Business rates - payment methods
Business rates are payable by instalments from 15th May to 15th
February or one lump sum on or before the 30th September.
There are different ways in which you can pay your Business Rates,
they are as follows:
- Online Payments
- Payments by phone
- Payments by debit or credit card
- Payments by Standing Order
- Payments by post
- Giro Credit Payments
- Direct Debit
Also, you can view the Council's
banking details, which you will need to quote when using one of
the automated payment services.
Online Payments
You can
pay your Business Rates online using your credit or debit
card.
Payments by phone
You can make a payment by calling our Automated Telephone
Payment number (24 hours, 7 days a week) on
08456030121.
When instructing your bank to make payment by phone please use the
Council's banking details and quote
your Council Tax/Non Domestic Rates account number including the
financial year.
Debit/credit card
Payments can be made using most debit/credit cards at any of our
local council offices, by telephoning 01738 477430 or by using
our
online payment service.
If we do not know how you would like to pay, you will
automatically be issued a standing order attached to your bill.
Unlike Direct Debit, you will have to take this form to your bank.
You will receive a new standing order to take to your bank each
time a new bill is issued.
When instructing your bank to make payment by Standing Order please
use the Council's banking details and
quote your Non Domestic Rates account number including the
financial year.
Payments by post
Cheques and postal orders should be crossed A/C Payee Only and
made payable to Perth & Kinross Council. You should give
details of your Council Tax/Non Domestic Rates account number and
address on the back. Payments should be sent to:

Bank Giro Credit
Some of our bills, reminders etc will have a tear off payment
voucher attached. This voucher can be used at any of our
local offices or in any bank or building society.
Direct Debit
You may be able to save yourself time and/or money by paying
your Non Domestic Rates by Direct Debit.
Your bill will advise you of the date and the amounts you need
to pay, once you complete the form the Council and your bank will
do the rest.
You will be automatically covered by a guarantee
scheme. The scheme promises an immediate refund in the
unlikely event of an error ever occurring.

How to change to Direct Debit
Set up your Direct Debit over the phone by calling an
advisor on (01738) 477430 or emailing localtaxes@pkc.gov.uk. Alternatively, you can
fill in the
Direct Debit Form [PDF: 50Kb],
remembering to tick the payment plan which suits you best and send
it back.

Perth and
Kinross Council's Banking Details
When instructing your bank to make payment by Bankers Order or
through Automated Banking Services please use the Councils Banking
details as shown below:

You should also quote your Council Tax/Non Domestic Rates
account number including the financial year when you make a
payment.
