Perth Safer City Centre Forum
Perth is a great place to work and live but like all cities, it
has its share of problems with crime and associated issues
- issues that can change depending on the time of day or
night.
Through Perth Safer City Centre Forum a range of organisations
in Perth are working together to tackle shop theft, fraud, robbery,
vandalism, fly-posting, graffiti and anti-social behaviour.
The Safer City Centre Forum is developing a range of measures to
reduce the incidence of crime and the fear of crime, tackle
environmental issues and improve community safety for the mutual
benefit of the business community, the local community and
individuals.
Examples of this include:
- Radiolink - scheme operating between business both in
daytime and evening economy, cctv room and police.
- Information sharing on criminal activity in Perth City Centre
between businesses, City Centre Management and Police.
- Civil and Criminal Exclusion Orders - a ban from one - ban
from all basis for all crime network business members within Perth
city centre.
- Active Pubwatch Scheme - promoting a safe city centre in
partnership with relative agencies.
- GET HOME SAFELY initiatives including late night transport
availability, taxi marshals and promoting a PARTY SAFE & GET
HOME SAFE message.
- Best Bar None Awards - national scheme promoting safety within
licensed premises.
- Park Mark Awards - scheme promoting safe car parks within Perth
city centre and Park & Ride facilities.
- Street Pastors - dedicated patrol of targeted city centre areas
in the evening economy promoting safety of vulnerable persons.
The Forum welcomes the involvement of city centre business in
crime prevention initiatives.
