Complaints about food businesses
In addition to the routine inspection of food businesses we will
respond to complaints about the hygiene standards of individual
premises or other food facilities such as market stalls and mobile
vendors.
We will only investigate complaints about food premises which
relate to food hygiene or safety. We will not investigate
complaints regarding the price of food or poor customer service,
unless it has a food safety link e.g. food not hot enough
etc.
The types of complaint normally encountered include the
following
- People serving food without washing their hands
- Poor levels of cleanliness in food areas
- Poor standards of personal hygiene amongst food handlers
- Poor food handling practices
