Lets Cook Opens Its Doors
Bringing a brand new cookery school to the heart of the
Perthshire countryside, Let’s Cook opened
the doors of its converted barn and purpose built kitchen on 1
December 2009. Offering a range of hands on classes and
courses, for all abilities, Let’s Cook is
the perfect place for food lovers and aspiring cooks to take their
cookery skills to the next level.
Concentrating on core cookery skills and exciting new flavour
combinations, Let’s Cook is confident that
its customers will come away from the cookery school brimming with
new ideas and greater culinary confidence. Situated in the
countryside of Perthshire they are blessed with a bountiful supply
of local artisan producers and so where at all possible will
incorporate all this local and regional produce into their
courses. Guest chefs and specialist cooks will also be
invited to teach at the school to enrich the learning
experience.
The Let’s Cook Cookery School will aim to
attract a wide audience with courses and classes to suit all ages,
abilities and requirements. These include:
- One day courses designed to teach new skills, tastes and
flavour combinations to make entertaining at home less stressful.
The One Day Course Gift Voucher makes a great present to those who
both love to cook and want to learn more.
- The University Survival Course. A week long course
designed to equip students going off to University with the
essential skills for eating well and on a budget.
- The Four Week Intensive Course has been designed to provide the
essential skills and confidence needed to become a competent and
relaxed cook whether it is cooking for intimate dinner parties or
for large social functions. It is perfect for those who are taking
a Gap Year, and have a desire to cook for others whether it is in a
ski chalet in the Alps, hunting lodge in the Highlands, or in a
galley out at sea, or for those who want to simply widen their
culinary expertise in order to produce delicious meals for family
and friends.

"The contact with Economic Development at
Perth & Kinross Council opened many other doors and
introduced to me to other key people at the Council who have been
incredibly important to Let's Cook. I was
only too pleased to be part of the Council's initiative to run
Perthshire Breakfast Courses for local Bed and Breakfast
owners. Again I received considerable help and support from
the Council which contributed to the success of the courses.
I hope there may be a possibility of running them again. |

"I was also delighted to receive financial
assistance from Economic Development at Perth & Kinross
Council. With their continued support they made the
application process very painless and straightforward. The
grant has been used to help fund the purchase of essential
equipment for the cookery school. A cookery school wouldn't
get very far without cookers! |

"All in all the impact of the financial support and
advice from all at Perth & Kinross Council has been tremendous
and has allowed Let's Cook to proudly open its
doors." Sarah Mellersh, Let's
Cook Cookery School |
