Perth and Kinross offers excellent education facilities with a total of 77 primary schools, ten secondary schools, two specialist schools and six independent schools.

Education and Children's Services vision for the 21st century are to raise finance to provide six new primary schools (two with nursery provision), five secondary schools, a new special school and enhanced community facilities.

Perth College

Perth College is the largest training provider in Perth and Kinross and offers both bespoke and certificated training up to degree level across a wide range of disciplines.  Through the Business Development Centre (BDC), the College is able to offer consultancy services, in-company training, vocational qualifications, and Modern Apprenticeship Programmes.  Provision can be offered in a wide variety of methods, from workplace assessment schemes through to on-line programmes and includes the very popular in-house face-to-face delivery.

As a community college, the College has developed a network of Learning Centres located in Aberfeldy, Blairgowrie, Crieff, Kinross, Pitlochry and Pathways in Perth to allow access to education and training across the area.

University of Abertay Dundee

Abertay has been educating Scotland's workforce since 1888.

The Dundee Business School (DBS) based within Abertay, is Tayside's leading provider of business and management education.  DBS offers a full range of academic, professional and executive programmes that includes all functional, strategic and development aspects of management. 

Courses include accountancy, economics, law and human resources.

As an established and leading provider of consultancy services, the University of Abertay Dundee actively encourages their staff to offer their expertise and facilities externally through the provision of consultancy services. This wealth of expertise is made available to industry, government and the professions.

University of Dundee

The University of Dundee is growing fast in both size and reputation.  It has performed extremely well in both teaching and research assessment exercises, with a range of spin-out companies being developed to exploit its research and model wider-access programme. 

Highest profile areas are the life sciences and medicine where world class research into areas such as cancer and diabetes is yielding results. Also art and design where the faculty of Duncan of Jordanstone College has won itself an international reputation.
