Business Gateway
Business Gateway was created specifically to offer assistance and encouragement to businesses, and to provide access to publicly funded services. It's supported by Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Executive, Local Authorities, and partner organisations. Through partnerships, they aim to provide people who are starting up or developing their own business with a more comprehensive and personal service and easier, faster access to publicly funded support. Business Gateway operates online and through more than 40 local outlets in Scotland. So they're not only there for you 24 hours a day at the click of your mouse, they're also always near at hand if you want to talk things through, face to face.
Each outlet has a staff of experienced advisers who can offer you informed, impartial advice on everything from how to finance your business to how to make sure it fulfils its potential. They also provide seminars and workshops where you can learn skills that may prove very useful in the day-to-day running of your business.
You could also be referred to their industry-specific advisers, along with other partner organisations, who may be better equipped to deal with your individual needs. So wherever you are in your business plan - even if you don't have one yet - you can go and speak to them.
