The Trading Standards Service carries out a wide range of
statutory duties in the sphere of consumer protection. The
legislation enforced is aimed at ensuring a fair and equitable
trading environment in which responsible businesses can succeed and
consumers are protected from unfair trading practices.

consistent advice and assistance to enable them to trade fairly and
safely while actively discouraging unfair or unsafe trading
