Concessions
National entitlement card
- If you are 60 or over, apply for a national entitlement card and you can travel free on any local bus and scheduled long distance coach services in Scotland throughout the day - including the morning rush hour.
Concessionary travel scheme for young people
- The Scotland-Wide Concessionary Travel Scheme for Young People allows all 16 - 18 year olds and young full-time volunteers up to the age of 25 1/3 off buses and rail travel throughout Scotland.
Direct Gov - Rail travel concessions
- There are different railcards which offer discount for travel across Britain's trains. These cover discounts for young people, older citizens, disabled people, families and those connected to the armed forces.
Alternative travel options
Lift Sharing
- Share the cost of travelling from your home to your place of work by finding people in your area who are doing the same journey. Not only will your save money but you will help reduce the number of cars on the road.
Park and ride
- There are three park and ride sites operating in Perthshire, providing an easy alternative means of accessing Perth City Centre and improving public transport links for journeys to Edinburgh.
Cycling
- If your place of work isn't far from home, why not get fit and cycle to work? If you work in Perth, there are dedicated cycle lanes and bike shelters / lock ups to store your bike until you're ready to go home.
