Information about the Council's Welfare Rights Service.

The Welfare Rights Team offers a free, confidential and impartial welfare rights service to the residents of Perth & Kinross. This is what we can do for you:

Advice

We can provide advice and information on welfare benefits and tax credits; housing and homelessness; employment rights and basic debt advice.

Income maximisation

Everyone who contacts the service is offered a comprehensive welfare benefit check for their household. This way we make sure you get all the money you are entitled to.

Financial assessment

Financial assessments for people receiving chargeable residential and non-residential services.

Representation at benefit appeal tribunals

We can help you with lodging an appeal against benefit decisions, preparing case for tribunal. We can also represent and help you while your case is at the tribunal (including upper tribunals).

Talks, training and information

We can provide talks and training on benefits awareness. We also publish leaflets, factsheets and benefit quick guides. These will be available in the download section on the right.

Benefit take-up campaigns

We often target our work into campaigns. This way we can reach more people and encourage them to apply for benefits they should be getting.

Macmillan Cancer Support

We also work in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Care, click the logo below for further information.
