Anti-Social Investigation Team
Who are we?
The Anti Social Investigations Team (A.S.I.T.) comprises of a
team of Investigators and support staff located in Perth as well as
teams of Community Wardens located in housing estates in the
authority area.
Our staff have been specially trained to deal with anti social
behaviour complaints in Perth and Kinross.
What we do?
A.S.I.T services are available to anyone in Perth and Kinross
who may feel that they are a victim of antisocial behaviour. The
investigators will try to establish the cause of the problem and
then look at all options to resolve it. We also carry out
investigations on behalf of other agencies such as Housing
Associations.
In some cases of antisocial behaviour witnesses don't want to
come forward because they are afraid of reprisals. It is important
that the best evidence is produced to a court but in some cases
staff can act as "expert witnesses" on behalf of other people.
Victims of anti social behaviour
Investigators are aware of the effect anti social behaviour
has on victims and support them during enquiries ensuring that they
are kept up to date with the progress of investigations. We work
closely with Victim Support and can put you in touch
with then if you feel this could be beneficial for you. We'll also
look at any other forms of support you may require.
Perth Community Mediation Service
In many cases of neighbour disputes lack of communication
between involved parties can increase tensions. It is important
that, where possible, parties are brought together to discuss their
grievances.
A.S.I.T. works closely with Perth Community Mediation Service available to
all residents of Perth and Kinross. They help to resolve disputes
over noise, pets, children, parking, fences etc. This is an
independent agency using trained and experienced mediators to find
a way forward that everyone can live with. The service is
confidential and free and has an excellent record of success.
