Errol Placecheck

We piloted a 'Placecheck' event over 2 weekends this summer in Errol.  As many members of the community as possible were encouraged to engage with officers from The Environment Service to identify issues and priorities for their public spaces ranging from the High Street to public park and countryside walks to village entrances.

Despite the weather there was a great turnout and staff and members of the community did a village walkabout in different groups followed by workshops to prioritise short, medium and long term actions.  It has been very beneficial for all involved to have the opportunity to meet and discuss issues face to face and work together to try and find solutions.

Many of the short term actions have been already been undertaken and proposals[pdf - 1.82Mb] have recently been exhibited in Errol to address some of the other key priorities.  Improvements to the park, village centre, the St Madoes entrance and countryside path to the south of the village should be underway early in the New Year.
