Perth & Kinross Council work with a range of partner organisations to support and promote cycling as widely as possible. Whether you are an experienced cyclist looking for some new routes, or whether you have never cycled before, our web pages should be able to provide you with the necessary information to help you.

Why cycle?

Traffic congestion and pollution is becoming more and more of a problem in our towns and cities. Air pollution levels in some parts of Perth are giving cause for concern. Give cycling a try and you'll find out what an enjoyable and versatile means of transport it is.
Cycle events and rides
Once again, Perth & Kinross Council is co-ordinating the Cycling Summer programme, incorporating cycling events across the region from April to October.
This year there are more rides with many different themes and lengths, as well as lots of fun events, information stalls, schools activities and much more. There are more and more great cycle facilities in the area, and with our wonderful Perthshire countryside to explore, what not get your bike out in 2008 and join one of the Cycling Summer events.
Cycle Ride Leaders
Perth & Kinross Council have information about people in the area trained as day ride leaders, cycle trainers, trail cycle leaders and mountain bike leaders. The council has supported the training of a number of these people. If you or your organisation needs a cycle leader get in touch on 01738 476564.
