Outdoor Activities

A wide range of outdoor activities are available in the Perth and Kinross area during the winter and the summer season.

Activity Description
Abseiling Descending a rock face using a fixed rope.
Canoeing A good way to learn your boat handling skills, with a single paddle blade. Can be done as a single person or double.

Pilot a two-person boat down a fast flowing river.
Gorge Walking Make your way up or down a river. Slide down rocks and jump off cliffs into water.
Coasteering A similar sport to Gorge Walking except done in the sea! A unique experience.
Indoor Climbing For many the first place they put on a climbing harness. A good way to learn the ropes.
Kayaking
(Placid Water)
A single person craft with a double paddle. An ideal way to learn to paddle.

A more advanced way to test your boating handling. Good place to perfect your Eskimo roll.
Mountain Biking Steer your bike around man-made and natural trails. A good test of balance, skill and fitness.
Orienteering Navigate around a course of markers using map and compass. Points awarded for accuracy and speed.
Rock Climbing
(Single Pitch)
Been to the Indoor Wall, want to try real rock? Try climbing at a small crag or quarry before heading for the mountains.

(Multi Pitch)
More advanced rope and climbing techniques required, as is stamina and a good head for heights.
Scrambling

Easy Rock Climbing that takes you up, over and along ridges and rock outcrops on Scotland's mountains. Minimal rope-work, maximum fun!

Skiing
(Alpine)
Fancy yourself as the 'Hermenator'? Modern styles of
skis have made this easier to learn and more fun.

(Nordic)
Incorporates cross - country track skiing and ski touring
disciplines. Skiing for those not bound by lifts and pistes.

(Telemark)
The original style of skiing, now making a popular
revival. Good balance and strong legs are a must.
Snow & Ice
Climbing
Tackle the steep, snowy and icy mountains. Learn how to
make your way up gullies and buttresses in winter
conditions. Not for the faint hearted!
Snowblading A recent innovation, these short skis have made tricks
and stunts easier to learn, especially for in-line skaters.
Snowboarding The only way to ride powder! Snowboarding has evolved
from surfing and skateboarding.
Winter
Mountaineering
Winter Mountaineering can be the most rewarding
experience. We can teach to use your ice axe and
crampons and other essential winter skills.
Night Mountain
Biking
You've tried Mountain Biking and are ready for another
challenge. What about riding on local trails at night with
off-road lights? Even the easiest tracks ecome harder
when all you can see is a small cone of light in front of
you!
