Basketball

Basketball in Perth and Kinross is growing from strength to strength. The predominant club is Perth Phoenix have thriving junior and adult sections catering for both men and women. The club teams compete in the regional leagues. The second club is Loch Leven Leapers who are a recreational club for juniors. The teams from this club participate in friendly competition. The coaches associated to Perth Phoenix provide coaching and management for the regional development squad, which has been running for 3 years now.

The Perth and Kinross development squad is a progressive squad that assists talented young players to develop their skills out with school and holiday programmes, these young players will then progress on to the local club. The development squad has an under 12s and under 15s boys teams and an under 12s and under 15s girls teams. The development squad has entered teams into the national league for the past two years.

Schools basketball will be developing this year as well with the introduction of primary and secondary tournaments.

There will be several basketball coaching courses going on it the area this year so check the club and coach development section for dates.

  • RAF Junior Floor Officials Award
  • Level 1 Floor Officials Award
  • Getting Started Coach Award
  • Level 1 Coach Award
  • Level 2 Coach Award will be coming soon
