Council advises use of greener transport methods

In the light of possible industrial action at the Grangemouth oil refinery this coming weekend, Perth & Kinross Council is advising its employees and the general public to consider other ways of getting around rather than using their cars.
Executive Director of Corporate Services, Gavin Stevenson said: "We hope there will be a positive outcome to the current dispute between operators Ineos and the trade union Unite without any major disruption to the public and businesses.
"However, given the present circumstances, we also want to take the opportunity to encourage people to make use of other modes of transport where they can - for example, walking, taking the train or bus, or car sharing. These are all more environmentally-friendly ways of getting around."
