Bestselling Scots crime author at AK Bell Library
Aberdeen-based crime writer Stuart MacBride will visit the AK Bell Library on Tuesday 13th March to discuss ‘Birthdays for the Dead’, his gritty new novel which went straight to number one in the Sunday Times Bestseller List when it was published in January.
Stuart, who is the author of several bestselling novels, shot into the public eye in 2005 with his hugely successful debut thriller Cold Granite, which won him the Barry Award for Best Debut Novel in 2006. He has since gone on to publish six more bestselling titles in the DS Logan McRae series. His books have sold over a million copies and have won multiple accolades, including the CWA’s Dagger in the Library, and Best Breakthrough Author at the ITV3 crime thriller awards.
Stuart has lived in the Aberdeen area for many years and his novels featuring DS Logan McRae are all set in the city. In his new stand-alone novel we are introduced to Detective Constable Ash Henderson and we leave Aberdeen behind. A noir tale of revenge, this is a story that Stuart has wanted to write for some time. Although a departure from the DS Logan McRae series, it still contains the fast-paced, tough, gritty writing, shot through with the black humour that is his hallmark.
Join us for what promises to be an eventful evening. Fans of the author will know exactly what to expect! Tickets for the talk, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £5 and are now available from the AK Bell Library. Telephone 01738 477019 for further information.
