Improvement work at Auchterarder Recycling Centre
Last updated | 17/10/2008
Improvement work is to be carried out at Auchterarder Recycling Centre over six to eight weeks starting on Monday 28 January 2008, which will result in enhanced recycling facilities for residents.
The work will see the provision of additional containers for cardboard, timber, scrap metal and inert waste. New access ramps to the containers will be built, and improvements to the entrance road and informational signage will also be carried out at the Recycling Centre.
In addition, the recycling containers for paper, aluminium and steel food and drink cans, green, clear and brown glass and textiles will be moved outside of the Recycling Centre perimeter fence allowing residents 24-hour access to these facilities.
The Council will make every effort to maintain access to the Recycling Centre during the improvement works. However, there may be times when access is limited or the site may have to temporarily close. During the period where the entrance road is being resurfaced, there will be no access to the Recycling Centre.
During periods where Auchterarder Recycling Centre is closed to the public due to the improvement work, Crieff Recycling Centre will extend its opening days to include Tuesdays and Thursdays. Information about these arrangements will be displayed at the entrance to Auchterarder Recycling Centre during periods where no access is available.
Members of the public are asked for their patience during this time to allow the work to be completed as quickly as possible.
Residents also have access to a Recycling Point at the Crown Inn Wynd should entry to recycling facilities be unavailable. The nearest alternative Recycling Centre is located on Broich Road in Crieff.
