Strathearn residents will have the opportunity to put on their
dancing shoes at the beginning of February 2012.
Perth & Kinross Council's Community Learning and Development
staff based at Strathearn Community Campus, are holding an
alcohol-free ceilidh to bring together people from the many
different cultures which make up the local community.
The event is part of a Cultural Connections project which aims to
develop strong links between the various nationalities living in
Strathearn.
To launch the project, the ceilidh has been organised for Friday
3rd February between 7.30pm and 9.30pm in the Tryst Assembly Hall
at the Strathearn Community Campus, Pittenzie Road, Crieff.
Up-tempo music will be provided by local musicians, with a tasty
buffet served up by Tayside Contracts.
Celebrating Scottish culture
A spokesperson from the local CLD team said: "We hope the event
will encourage the various communities living in the area to come
together to celebrate Scottish culture.
"We would like this to be a really sociable evening and hope that
local people will attend and help teach the dances to those who
have never been to a ceilidh before.
"The event will be a great opportunity to come together, celebrate
our culture and at the same time make some new friends."
The ceilidh is free to all but anyone wishing to attend must have a
ticket, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. For
more information or to get your ticket, please call 01764
