Council opens rest centre

Perth and Kinross Council has opened a rest centre at Loch Leven
Community Campus in Kinross, following the closure of the A977. A
road traffic accident at Drum has necessitated the evactuation of
residents.
The rest centre offers hot food and drinks and bathroom
facilities. Council staff and volunteers are on hand to help
residents and the Council has made transport from the accident site
to the rest centre available.
Anyone evacuated from their home requiring assistance, or anyone
wishing to find out more about evacuated friends or family members,
can contact Perth and Kinross Council‘s information line on
(01738) 475000.
The Council is working with Tayside Police and Tayside Fire and
Rescue to ensure evacuated residents have suitable overnight
accommodation. It is likely that the rest centre will close at 10pm
on Monday 9 January, once all residents have been found
accommodation.
