Community and voluntary organisations and other interested parties are being invited to take up a place on a two-day social enterprise training course at the end of next month.
'Understanding Social Enterprise' will be held on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 July 2008 at the Salutation Hotel in Perth, running from 9.30am to 4.00pm daily. It is aimed at organisations working in the social economy sector, which locally would include voluntary sector organisations and housing associations.
Enterprise & Infrastructure Convener, Councillor John Kellas said: "There was a very positive response to the first of these courses held last year and we are keen to build on that success and provide access to information and guidance for more third sector organisations in Perth and Kinross."
Organised by the Perth & Kinross Social Economy Partnership in conjunction with the Social Enterprise Academy, the course will begin by setting out the basics of what social enterprise is and move through to detailing how participants can develop their own ideas for self-sustaining businesses.
Course costs are £45 per place for the full two days. To book a place, or to obtain more information, please phone 01738 477950 or email salhague@pkc.gov.uk
