Young car user safety event in Crieff
Last updated | 18/06/2008
A partnership project between Perth & Kinross Council's Youth Services, Tayside Fire and Rescue, Tayside Police, the Scottish Ambulance Service and BASICS (British Association of Immediate Care Scotland) aims to raise awareness of car user safety for young people aged 17-25 in the Strathearn area, with a special event on Friday 20 June 2008 in Taylor Park, Crieff.
The free, fun event, supported by Chisholm Recovery Specialists from Perth, will run between 7pm and 9pm and is intended to reinforce a positive road safety message for young car users. There will be opportunities for young people to take a mock driving theory test, have a go at a tyre changing challenge, with a prize of quad biking for four people donated by The Crieff Hydro Hotel, and see a demonstration of how the emergency services respond to casualties in road accidents.
Rallying experts from Burnbrae Garage have also committed their time and expertise to the event, and will be bringing along a rally car to show the modifications made to keep drivers as safe as possible when racing.
There will also be a parent information zone, where parents can find out how they can support their children to be safer car users.
For further information about the event, please call Lesley Taylor on 01764 657100. Proof of age will be required for some of the activities on offer.
