New payment options as Council Tax bills begin to be issued
Last updated | 06/03/2008
Perth & Kinross Council will begin issuing Council Tax bills from Monday 10 March 2008 for the Financial Year 2008/9.
While the Council has agreed not to increase the Council Tax charge for the coming year, the bills themselves will show an increase in overall charges. This is due to the rise in water and sewerage charges, which are set by Scottish Water.
The Council, in a bid to assist payers, has introduced further Direct Debit payment options, helping to make paying Council Tax easier. These include weekly and fortnightly payments, which can also be extended across a full year from April to March.
The new options follow the introduction in 2007 of the option to set up Direct Debit payments over the phone with provision of two monthly payment dates and an option to extend payments over 12 months.
Direct Debit is the simplest and quickest way to pay Council Tax and eliminates the need to queue to pay a bill each month.
