Praise for Council website

Perth & Kinross Council’s website has been ranked as one of the best in Scotland by the Society of Information Technology Management (SOCITM).
The SOCITM reviewer said the website is a “well-executed Council website that is very easy to use” and ”a good benchmark for other local authorities in Scotland.”
The website was also one of nine in Scotland that achieved a “transactional rating” from the SOCITM. This rating is allocated to those sites which offer online transactions and a compelling user experience through the provision of essential content and self-service values.
The comments were made in a new SOCITM report following its review of all UK Council websites in November/December 2007.
It has been a successful 12 months for the Council website after a re-launch last year.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Miller, said: “This is excellent recognition of all the hard work our staff have done to make the website as user-friendly as possible. This confirms our commitment to continue to improve our community engagement.
“We will continue to work to improve the website and increase the number of services and transactions that are available online.
