The Annual Social Work Quiz, organised by Council staff, has raised its highest ever total for charity in it’s 10th year.
This very popular event attracts teams from across the Council, and a record number of 50 teams entered this year’s event at the Tulloch Institute.
It was organised by quizmaster David McPhee, from Housing & Community Care, assisted by Kevin Heller, also from Housing & Community Care, and Scott Walker from Corporate Services.
They have been organising this event since they 1999. Prior to this year the quizzes had raised a total in excess of £5,700 for charities.
This year a grand total of £1,122.10 was raised which will be split equally between the Clic Sargent charity, which supports families of children with cancer, and the local Safe-Tay charity dedicated to promoting water safety.
This year’s Quiz Trophy was won by the ‘Der Bomber’ team led by Steven Watt from Housing & Community Care.
Depute Director of Housing & Community Care, David Burke, who took part in the quiz, said: “I want to thank all of the people who took their time to set up and attend this event. It was a hugely enjoyable evening and greatly worthwhile to the charities involved.”
