Characters brought to life on historic drama walks

Over 300 pupils from primary schools in Perth and the surrounding area have recently seen significant points in local history brought to life on special guided walks.
Children from Dunbarney, Craigie, Inchture, Letham, Murthly, Balhousie, St. Ninian’s, Balbeggie, Breadalbane, Oakbank, Tulloch and Robert Douglas Memorial Primary Schools 'met' with characters along the way.
These included the Fair Maid of Perth, two characters from the Battle of the Clans, a monk from the Blackfriars Monastery, two millers at the former City Mills, a soldier and a nurse at the Black Watch Museum and two Georgian characters from Rose Terrace.
Primary school drama teachers, officers from Education and Children's Services and actress Lesley Mackie were on hand, together with Fraser Brown of the Black Watch Museum at Balhousie Castle, to tell pupils more about the different aspects of local history.
