Encyclopaedia Britannica available online through libraries

Last updated | 07/05/2008

Perth and Kinross Libraries have teamed up with Encyclopaedia Britannica to provide 24/7 access to the encyclopaedia online.

It’s the latest addition to the Libraries collection of expert Reference and Information websites available free to library members.

Lifelong Learning Convener, Councillor Liz Grant, said “We are building an online library of reliable resources on the web and I’m really pleased we are now able to include Britannica. I’m sure our readers of all ages will find it an invaluable source of information on a whole range of topics.”

As well as being available on any Library computer, Library members can also  access the service from their PC at home via www.pkc.gov.uk/library/reference.

To mark the launch of the new service Perth and Kinross Libraries are running a competition with prizes donated by Encyclopaedia Britannica. Entry forms are available from Libraries and the closing date is Saturday 14 June 2008.
