Local produce showcased for Perth race-goers

Last updated | 28/05/2008

If you want to sample the best local produce, arts and crafts that Perthshire has to offer then this year’s Perthshire Showcase, being held at Perth Racecourse on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd July, is the place to be.

A wide range of locally made food and drink will be on offer, as well as jewellery and art created by local talent. Stalls will also be selling a variety of racing memorabilia, pictures, clothing and other equestrian related products.

The event, organised by Perth Racecourse in partnership with Perth & Kinross Council, will be completed by a full card of National Hunt racing.

Enterprise and Infrastructure Convener, Councillor John Kellas, said: “This will be a great day out in a beautiful setting, and it will also give local producers and artists a unique opportunity to get their wares to the public.

“Visitors will be able to sample the excellent produce of Perth and Kinross and also enjoy a day at the races.”

Julie Manners, Perth Racecourse Marketing Manager, added: "This is a unique opportunity for a diverse range of local small businesses to showcase their products and services to race goers, owners and trainers from not only the local area but from across the U.K and Ireland.”
