New Family History Centre launched
Have you ever wondered who your ancestors were, where they came from and what they did for a living?
If so, a new service launched by Perth & Kinross Council today (Wednesday 28 May) could help you find the answers.
The Family History Centre, based at 5 High Street, Perth, has qualified staff at hand that can help people research their family tree.
Whether you are just starting to research your family history or are already well down the path of tracing your family tree, the Family History Centre is well worth a visit.
Staff have access to a range of Scottish genealogical records which can be used to create a family tree and a comprehensive family history report in book format. Information and other personal items such as photographs can also be added.
Provost John Hulbert, who officially opened the Family History Centre today, said: 'Researching family history has become an increasingly popular pastime in recent years. This dedicated centre will be a valuable resource for people looking for information about their family tree. I am sure it will be a very well-used facility.'
