Path closure while works are carried out

Last updated | 12/05/2008

Glenturret Estate will be carrying out drainage works on Laggan Road in Crieff between Monday 19 May and Wednesday 21 May.

To ensure the safety of the public and the contractor, the path will be closed next to Laggan Steading during this time. A diversion will be in place asking people to return to Crieff via Laggan Hill or go back along their original route.

Further work is also planned for Lady Mary's Walk during June and July. This work is being carried out by Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust as part of the Perthshire Big Tree Heritage and Access Project.

The improvements will involve surfacing much of the route with a new top layer of compacted gravel to match the existing surface. This will help to consolidate the path and make the route even better for disabled users. During the project it will be necessary to close a short section of the path between Laggan Road and the bridge across the line of the disused railway.

This area is required for the storage of materials and equipment and will be closed during working hours. Diversions will be signposted during the project.
