Temporary closure of Blairgowrie Transfer Station to commercial traders

Last updated | 16/05/2008

To allow repair works to the transfer shed to be carried out, Perth & Kinross Council will be closing Blairgowrie Transfer Station to commercial traders for an eight-week period beginning Monday 19th May 2008.

Until Friday 30 May 2008, general trade waste can be taken to Friarton Transfer Station. After that date, general trade waste will no longer be accepted at Friarton. The Council's Environment Committee made the decision on 26 March 2008 to alter arrangements at Friarton, so that only trade waste which can be recycled or composted can be disposed of at the facility.

General trade waste disposal services are available elsewhere in Perth and Kinross, at Holden Environmental, Shore Road, Perth, and Binn Skips at Binn Farm, Glenfarg.

Traders who use the recycling containers at Blairgowrie Recycling Centre for segragated materials such as glass, paper and cans may continue to use these facilities free of charge.

Public access to the Recycling Centre facilities at Blairgowrie will remain as normal throughout the duration of the repair works.
