A series of events for people who are interested in working in social care is being held by Perth & Kinross Council.
Homecare staff will be on hand at the events to chat informally to people about opportunities in the sector, and how to apply.
Perth & Kinross Council’s Homecare staff work with a wide variety of clients, such as older people, vulnerable adults and children. The events will be of interest to people who may be thinking about a change in job, those returning to work from a break or indeed those looking for their first job. As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage applications from all sections of our communities,
Staff at the events will help people to complete applications on the day. Even if openings are not currently available, the Council will keep people’s details on file so we can contact them when a suitable vacancy comes up.
Housing and Health Convener, Councillor Peter Barrett, said: “Homecare staff are vital to our services. They ensure that some of the most vulnerable members of our communities receive the care and assistance they need to lead fulfilling lives.
“These informal events are an innovative way we can contact people who are interested in a career in Homecare. By talking to them one-on-one we can provide them with a clear picture of what the work involves, and the job satisfaction it can provide.
"This 'roadshow' approach to attract new employees is part of our commitment to improve care services delivered to Perth and Kinross residents in their homes. The Council is determined to deliver on pledges to deliver more hours of care to residents."
The events being held are:
- Salutation Hotel,Perth, Wednesday 26 November from 10am-4pm
- Perth College, Thursday 27 November, 5.30-7.30pm
- Pitlochry learning Centre, Friday 28 November, 1.30-3.30pm
