| Business Breakfasts |
Since May 2007, the Chief Executive has met all managers across
all Services on a regular basis via a series of business
breakfasts. These have provided an opportunity for engagement in
terms of the major strategic issues facing the Council. The fourth
series of business breakfasts commenced in early 2011 and have
engaged managers in more detailed discussions around the
Council’s plans for transformation. |

Business Management & Improvement Plans and Annual Performance
Reports
|
Each Service has a Joint Business Management and Improvement
Plan and Annual Performance Report (BMIP) which sets out activities
and targets for the Service for the next three years and reflects
current priorities and key improvement actions. |

Committee structure and remits
|
There are a number of statutory committees that every council
has, such as a standards committee, a planning committee and a
licensing committee – we have 9 committees in total. |

Community Plan
|
The plan sets out the shared vision for Perth and Kinross and
plans out how we will work with our partners to deliver against the
shared priorities for the area. |

Community Planning and Community Planning Partnership |
The Perth and Kinross Community Planning Partnership leads the
community planning process for the area and is responsible for
providing strategic direction, agreeing priorities and managing
performance. |

Elected Member Development Programme |
Elected members undertake self-assessment against the Scottish
Local Authority Remuneration Committee (SLARC) competency
framework, taking into consideration their own unique combination
of experience and life skills. Any areas identified as
opportunities for further development were written into the
individual’s Personal Development Plan. The collated
information emanating from all of these meetings will inform the
ongoing development programme offered to elected members. |

Each year we must plan ahead and prepare budgets for the new
financial year which starts on 1st April. |
