Additional Support for Learning – Interim Position Statement This statement is part of the overall Additional Support Needs Strategy and outlines the arrangements for implementing the new duties introduced by the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004.
Additional Support Needs Review A review was commissioned of the Additional Support Needs Team which plays a vital part in ensuring that the needs of children and young people are met and this report outlines the background and key findings.
Care Commission Inspections of Support and Residential Care Services for Children and Young People – various reports Regular reports are submitted to the Executive Sub-Committee of Lifelong Learning Committee setting out the key findings and areas for improvement following inspections of support and residential care services for children and young people.
Chief Social Work Officer Annual Report 2010/11 [pdf – 1mb] This report provides the Council with the Chief Social Work Officer’s view on the effective functioning of social work and social care services within Perth and Kinross.
Child Protection Standards & Quality Report This report reflects on our individual agency and joint Child Protection work and identifies key strengths and areas for development. It considers the impact and outcomes of our work and evidences our collective and ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

HMIe Joint Inspection of Services to Protect Children [pdf – 230kb] This report presents the findings of the inspection of services to protect children in the Perth and Kinross area which took place between December 2008 and January 2009.
HMIe Summary of Evaluation of the Educational Psychology Service The Educational Psychology Service was inspected by in November 2009.
HMIe Validated self-evaluation (VSE) In October 2009, we conducting a Validated Self-Evaluation (VSE). The report reflects the positive improvement journey we have made over the past few years.
Integrated Children's Services Plan 2009-2011 [pdf – 453kb] This plan confirms support for the vision for children and young people and establishes a strategic agenda for improving local services for children and young people.
Joint Perth and Kinross Strategy for Young Carers 2011-14 [pdf - 808kb] This is the first joint strategy and should be read alongside the Joint Perth and Kinross Strategy for Adult Carers and Parent Carers 2011-2014 [pdf - 142kb]. The strategy has been developed jointly by the Young Carers Strategic Group which incorporates all the relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, who come into contact with children and young people, who may also be young carers.
Perth and Kinross Parenting Strategy and Update The strategy was launched in November 2008 and is implemented through partnerships across the public, private and voluntary sectors and with local communities. It provides a clear framework within which information, services and support for parents and carers can be developed.
Progress Report on the Strategy for Looked After Children [pdf – 426kb] This report provides an update on progress made in respect of the Strategy for Looked After Children which was approved in June 2007.
Standards and Quality in Schools, Pre-School Centres and Community Learning and Development – various summary reports The inspections and reviews carried out by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIe) are central parts of the approach to quality improvement in Scottish education. Regular reports are submitted to the Executive Sub-Committee of Lifelong Learning Committee setting out the key findings and areas for improvement following HMIe inspections of schools, pre-school centres and community learning and development services.

Joint Strategy for Adult and Carers and Parent Carers 2011 – 2014 [pdf – 143kb] This strategy sets out the principles which the Council has agreed to deal with carers in the future.
Re-Inspection of the Homeless Service by The Scottish Housing Regulator [pdf - 314kb] The report recommends action on findings of the Scottish Housing Regulator’s re-inspection of the Homeless Service in June 2010.
