Statement

This statement is part of the overall Additional Support Needs
Strategy and outlines the arrangements for implementing the new
duties introduced by the Education
(Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004. |

Additional Support Needs Review
|
A review was commissioned of the Additional Support Needs Team
which plays a vital part in ensuring that the needs of children and
young people are met and this report outlines the background and
key findings. |

Services for Children and Young People – various reports
|
Regular reports are submitted to the
Executive Sub-Committee of Lifelong Learning Committee setting
out the key findings and areas for improvement following
inspections of support and residential care services for children
and young people. |

This is the first joint strategy and should be read alongside

Joint Perth and Kinross Strategy for Adult Carers and Parent Carers
2011-2014 [pdf - 142kb]. The strategy has been developed
jointly by the Young Carers Strategic Group which incorporates all
the relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, who come into
contact with children and young people, who may also be young
carers. |

Perth and Kinross Parenting Strategy and Update |
The strategy was launched in November 2008 and is implemented
through partnerships across the public, private and voluntary
sectors and with local communities. It provides a clear framework
within which information, services and support for parents and
carers can be developed. |
