Chief Social Work Officer Annual Report 2010/11 [pdf – 1mb] This report provides the Council with the Chief Social Work Officer’s view on the effective functioning of social work and social care services within Perth and Kinross.
Child Protection Standards & Quality Report This report reflects on our individual agency and joint Child Protection work and identifies key strengths and areas for development. It considers the impact and outcomes of our work and evidences our collective and ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
HMIe Joint Inspection of Services to Protect Children [pdf – 230kb] This report presents the findings of the inspection of services to protect children in Perth and Kinross which took place between December 2008 and January 2009.

Community Safety Strategy 2007 – 2012 [pdf – 6.6mb] This strategy builds on the work to increase the sustainable community safety outcomes via effective partnership work.
Homelessness Strategy 2009 - 2012 In compliance with The Housing (Scotland) Act 2001, we have produced this strategy to set out what we plan to do, in co-operation with our partners, to address homelessness issues over a three-year period.
Perth & Kinross Violence Against Woman - Towards an Integrated Strategy - Addressing Violence Against Women 2010-13 [pdf – 2mb] The Perth & Kinross Violence Against Women Partnership is a multi-agency group with membership from the statutory and voluntary sector. A key aspect of this plan is to prevent violence against women across key organisations and communities.
Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland Inspections (SCSWIS) [pdf: 386kb] Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCSWIS) is the new unified independent scrutiny and improvement body for care and children’s services. SCSWIS took over the work of the Care Commission in April 2011. This report advises Committee of the key findings of inspections carried out in Perth & Kinross between August 2010 and July 2011. During this period 11 inspections were carried out on 10 establishments across the four quality themes: Quality of Care and Support, Environment, Staffing and Management and Leadership.
Social Work Inspection Agency (SWIA) – Report on Prison Based Social Work Service [pdf – 627kb] This report details the findings from the inspection carried out at HMP Perth and HMP Open Estate.

Community Recycling We actively encourage community participation of waste related projects and have several ongoing community projects in the area.
Cycling, Walking and Safer Streets (CWSS) Projects 2011/12 [pdf – 1mb] The report provides a proposed list of works in the area for 2011/12 funded from a Cycling, Walking and Safer Streets Grant from the Scottish Government.
Fair Trading Our Trading Standards service enforces many pieces of legislation relating to Fair Trading including car clocking, package holidays/timeshare, pricing, consumer credit/loan sharks, product counterfeiting and mis-descriptions of goods and services.
National Road Condition Survey [pdf – 159kb] This survey provides a consistent Scotland-wide Road Condition Indicator (RCI), which includes data on carriageway cracking and takes account of the defect severity and its relative importance for road users.
Regulations To Deliver Zero Waste: A Consultation on the Proposed Zero Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2011 [pdf – 339kb] This consultation paper contains a package of regulatory measures initiating a step change in how waste will be managed in Scotland, provides background context to the regulations and set out our response to the consultation.
Review of Kerbside Waste and Recycling Collection Arrangements [pdf – 504kb] In an attempt to provide equity of service, a review of all kerbside waste and recycling services was deemed necessary. The review proposes changes to mixed food and garden waste, general waste and dry mixed recyclate collections.
Scotland's Zero Waste Plan [pdf – 510kb] The Scottish Government published this plan to provide a framework for investment over the next ten years and to set out key areas of activity and priorities for the next five years.
State of the Environment The State of the Environment contains information within nine key areas which highlight the environmental issues facing our region. Its purpose is to provide a diagnostic tool that will help to inform plan-makers, decision-makers and the community about the condition of the environment.
Traffic and Road Safety Schemes 2011/12 [pdf – 1mb] This report details implementation of a number of traffic and road safety schemes for 2011/12 funded from the Council’s Capital Budget for Road Safety Initiatives and the Traffic Revenue Budget.
Waste Management Plan 2010 – 2025 [pdf – 193kb] This plan provides clear strategic direction for future municipal waste management taking into account the public consultation exercise that was undertaken for the draft Plan and the publication of Scotland’s Zero Waste Plan [pdf - 510kb].
