Discounts and Reductions
Council Tax Discount
Council Tax bills are issued on the assumption that two adults are
resident in the property. If there is only one adult in the
property, or if some adults can be disregarded for Council Tax
purposes, a discount of up to 50% may be awarded.
Council Tax Exemption
Where a property is unoccupied or is solely occupied by certain
categories of persons, an exemption may be awarded.
Disabled Person's Reduction
Where a property has been converted for use by a disabled person, a
reduction may apply.
In all of the above cases an application must be made in writing
before any discount, exemption or reduction may be awarded. Click

Home Insulation/Council Tax
Rebate Scheme
Perth & Kinross Council is working in
partnership with Scottish Gas who has created a low cost insulation
package for private households in the Perth & Kinross
area.
This includes a £50.00 Council Tax rebate
when cavity wall or loft insulation is carried out under a specific
Scottish Gas Scheme. Where both measures are installed the rebate
amount is £100.00
The standard price for cavity wall or loft
insulation, after rebate is £149.00
Free insulation is available for households
containing anyone aged over 70 or those in receipt of certain
benefits.
