Elections
Voting in elections is your chance to help decide who will make decisions on issues that affect you every day.
It could be the healthcare you expect; the transport services you use; the sport you play; the way crime is tackled; the education provided in schools.
Your vote influences who gets elected and, in turn, how Scotland is governed and the delivery of public services.
On 3 May 2007 elections were held for both local government (your council) and for the Scottish Parliament.
Here we provide information on both elections: how local government and the Scottish Parliament affect your life; how to vote; where to get further information.
