Voting
How do I vote?
To vote, you must be:
- Eligible, that is 18 or over,
- and British, Commonwealth, European Union or Irish citizen
- Registered on the Register of Electors.

Registering to vote
There are different ways in which to register for voting.
- You may have received information from the Electoral Commission at your home address
- You can register now at http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk/.
- You can contact your local Electoral Registration Officer.
If you are unsure if you are registered to vote, or do not know which polling station you should go to, please contact the Electoral Registration Officer for Perth and Kinross at:

Ways to vote
Most people choose to vote in person at their local polling station. For further information on this, please see 'What to do on election day'
If you can't get to your polling station you can:
- vote by post
- vote by proxy, that is, get someone else to go for you.
Anyone can apply to vote by post. You do not have to provide a reason for choosing this way to vote.
