Purpose
The remit of the Committee is to determine the strategic policy
objectives and priorities of the Council; determine and implement
the Council's communication policy; exercise the functions of the
Council in relation to Community Councils; exercise the functions
of the Council as Local Registration Authority for the purposes of
the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages; develop
co-operation between the Council and the voluntary sector and
assist and promote that work; determine and implement the Council's
Social Justice policy; determine and implement the Council's
Equalities policies; oversee the management of the Council's
information and technology systems; oversee the management of the
Council's financial resources, including collection of monies due
to the Council, insurances and risk management arrangements;
oversee the of the Council's human resources; deal with all matters
relating to civic heritage and ceremony and hospitality; determine
and implement the Council's policy in relation to Community
Planning; determine and implement the Council's continuous
improvement policies; oversee the control and supervision of the
Council's Building Services CSO.
