Structures in Place - The Area Based Initiative Group The regeneration process is led by the Area Based Initiatives Group. This group is made up of senior management representatives from relevant Community Planning Partnership agencies and other key partners or public agencies including:
• Lead Officer – Head of Housing Strategy
• Communities Scotland Tayside• NHS Tayside Scottish Enterprise Tayside
• Perth College
• Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Services
• Tayside Police
• Tayside Fire Service
• Perthshire Housing Association
• Fairfield Housing Co-operative
• Community Learning and Development
• Perth and Kinross Business Group
• YMCA
A Lead Officer has been nominated to drive forward the regeneration agenda for the 3 areas of Fairfield/Muirton, Rattray and Letham/Hillyland. They also attend the ABI Group.
Finally, the ABI Team – made up of a Development Officer and Co-ordinator - provides support to colleagues and projects playing a role in the regeneration agenda. They also attend the ABI Group.
Role of ABI GroupThe key roles of the ABI Group are to:
o Give support and direction to Lead Officers and Local Partnerships in developing and implementing area initiatives
o Co-ordinate community regeneration by monitoring the Regeneration Outcome Agreement and securing the involvement of partner agencies and external bodies
o Ensuring careful stewardship of ABI, CRF, CVP and other relevant grant streams, including determining criteria and conditions for awards made and defining terms for management of budgets devolved to local partnerships or any other sub group
o Allocate budgets to Local Partnershipso Report progress to the Community Planning Partnership and constituent bodies
The ABI Group meets on a quarterly basis.
