The Area Based Initiative Team The Area Based Initiative Team gives Community Planning Partnership provides the framework for the coordination and facilitation of regeneration activities.
They are also the contact point for partners and organisations requiring support to set up initiatives or programmes at a local level.
Key Roles of the ABI Team
- Strategic Planning - The ABI Team maintains close links, at all levels, with planning partners. This is central to ensuring that the approach taken at a local level through the Local Regeneration Partnerships is consistent with that of the Area Based Initiative Group and the Community Planning Partnership.
- Partnership Working - Developing effective partnership working has been central to the successful implementation of the Regneration Outcome Agreement.
- Funding - The team has ongoing responsibility for the administration of Community Regeneration Funding, the Area Based Initiative budget and Community Voices Programme monies.
- Research - The ABI Team has been developing both quantitative and qualitative methods to build up profiles of the regeneration areas and to identify trends.
- Community Engagement - A key area of responsibility has been the organising and coordinating of community engagement and consultation opportunities within the regeneration areas
