"Perth & Kinross Council will work to deliver effective and efficient procurement for the benefit of the organisation and all its stakeholders" The Procurement team are working to promote and develop knowledge of the improvements good procurement can provide.
Perth & Kinross Council is committed to achieving the most economically advantageous terms (MEAT) for the Council.
MEAT takes into account ''Corporate Social Responsibility'' - the Council will consider the following when looking at awarding contract:
- Sustainability
- Health, safety and welfare
- Environmental management
- Equality and diversity,
- Fair trade and ethical procurement
- Development of local economy / engagement with the local business community
The Council's procurement programme will improve procurement practice across all Council services - it will improve the way it 'buys' things - this covers EVERYTHING from a 'nail to a new school.'
