Kids Clubs and Wraparound Care Services
What are Kids Clubs and Wraparound Care Services?
Kids Clubs offer childcare after school, some services also
operate during school holidays or in-service days.
Wraparound Care (WAC) services offer childcare after nursery
class sessions for three and four year olds and
after school hours for primary age children. They also
offer full day care for nursery and primary age during school
holidays and on In-Service Days.
Who runs Kids Clubs and Wraparound Care Services?
Kids Clubs and WAC services are run by the Childcare Strategy
Team, part of the Council's Education and Children's Services
Department.
Who can attend the services?
Kids Clubs cater for children from Primary One to their second
year at Secondary School. WAC services cater for children
from three to Primary 7. Services are open to any child from
the school during term-time and to any child who can access the
service during the holidays.
Parents/Carers must register their child with the service each
year and there after they can make bookings as and when
required.
What would my child do at the service?
Services offer a range of play opportunities, which reflect the
needs and interests of the children attending. Activities
include arts and crafts, physical play such as sports and games,
den building, construction, computers, baking, trips and
outings.
Holiday programmes are planned in advance and highlight the range
of activities on offer.
