The Learning Curve
The definition of literacy advocated by the ALNIS
(2001) report is:
"The ability to read, write and use numeracy, to handle
information, to express ideas and opinions, to make decisions and
solve problems, as family members, workers, citizens and lifelong
learners".
The Learning Curve
The Learning Curve is the Perth & Kinross 'Literacies
in the Community Project' and is based in the AK Bell
Library.
We Provide:
- A place for people to come and learn one to one or in small
groups
- A resource centre for all things Literacies related - reading,
writing, spelling, numbers and English for Speakers of Other
Languages
- Advice on where best to get help with reading, writing,
spelling and numbers depending on your needs
- An administration centre for our local Literacies

Opening Times
Anyone is welcome to drop in between 9:30 and 5:00, Monday
to Friday and a member of staff will be happy to help you get
started with your learning.
Vision Statement
Working in partnership to promote, develop and support adult
literacy throughout Perth and Kinross enabling adults to develop
their literacy and numeracy skills so they can participate fully in
personal, family, work and community life.
