Building Community Capacity
Who Are We?
We are a team of 7 senior community workers who cover all of
Perth & Kinross. Each member of the team is responsible
for a particular area and has a local contact base.
What Do We Do?
We support community members and groups to play a full and
meaningful role to develop their neighbourhoods, inform local
service developments and celebrate their achievements.
How Do We Do It?
-
By Building Skills in the Community
We offer advice and training to ensure community groups are able
to run effectively and can provide leadership in local
affairs. This can include committee skills, planning,
evaluating progress or whatever your group needs help doing.
-
By Building Community Organisations
We provide assistance to community groups to develop
constitutions, targets and clear aims for community action and
support them to achieve their goals.
-
By Building Involvement
We support groups to become open, accountable, active and to
develop links with other community organisations. In
each locality our Team is responsible for supporting Community
Learning & Development Partnerships, particularly in developing
the community's role in them. These are the area forums for
developing action plans to address local issues.
-
By Building Equalities
We help groups to promote and support equal opportunities.
We aim to ensure all sections of our communities are supported to
be actively involved in deciding their own future.
