East Perthshire
The Community Capacity Building Worker for the Eastern
Perthshire area is based in Rowanbank Community Learning Centre in
Blairgowrie. Eastern Perthshire is that part of Perth and
Kinross which includes Blairgowrie and Rattray, Glenshee and
Strathardle to the north; Alyth, Meigle and Ardler at its eastern
edges; Coupar Angus, Kettins and Burrelton to the south; and
stretching west to Carsie, Meikleour, Spittalfield and
Caputh.
Part of the Capacity Building Worker's role is to help
individuals, groups and organisations identify the issues affecting
their communities and to support them in improving the quality of
life in their area.
Support comes in a variety of forms:
• Help with how and where to access funding and other
resources
• Assistance with grant application forms
• Advice and guidance on setting up a group, including
constitutions, committee skills among others
• How to plan and evaluate a group?s activities
• Encouraging partnership approaches
Some groups have been supported to:
• Attain charitable status
• Develop youth work activities in their area
• Consult their community about ideas for the
future
• Plan community events
You and your group can get:
• access to training, often locally based
• advice and guidance on a way forward
• funding information
• committee skills
The Eastern Perthshire Community Learning and Development
Partnership comprises representatives from community groups and
statutory bodies. It brings together various stakeholders to
work together to improve services for young people, adults and
community groups and organisations in the area.
