South Perth Community Partnership

Last updated | 15/09/2010

South Perth Community Partnership supports individuals and groups in the South Perth area of Moncreiffe, Friarton, Craigie and South Inch to identify issues of concern, find local solutions and encourage more involvement within the local community.

The partnership is looking to recruit new members.  The South Perth Communities Partnership is made up primarily of local people as well as a variety of other partners such as the police, local churches, local schools, Perth & Kinross Council, Glenearn Community Centre, local projects and others who meet about once a month.

Within the last year the group has helped organize a Health Information Day, a Fun Day, worked with the Youth Services team to put on various activities for young people and created a local website and identified issues of concern regarding community safety and the environment.

Over the next year the group plans to carry out a needs assessment in the area to find out what is important to local people.  They will then create a development plan to address any issues raised.  The group will also be creating a web page about the area and a local newsletter supporting the green spaces project and the community allotments project.

The partnership needs more local representation on it.  If you are interested please contact the Senior Community Capacity Worker on 01738 622256.

South Perth Community Newsletter

The South Perth Community Partnership is hoping to create a community newsletter and would like to hear from anyone who is interested in being part of this or would like to contribute an article.  If you are interested please contact the Senior Community Capacity Worker on 01738 622256.

South Perth Community Allotment Project

An old rundown allotment site just off Glengarry Road in South Perth has been cleared and had some renovation work done to it by the Criminal Justice Team.  They now want the community to take over the site.  This may involve it reverting back to individual allotments or becoming a community garden which would allow schools, projects and individuals to have the opportunity to do some gardening.  The project is in the very early stages so we would welcome any suggestions about the future of the site.

If you would like more information on this project or would like to become involved please contact the Senior Community Capacity Worker on 01738 477677.
