Community Learning and Development

Community Learning and Development describes a way of working with people in their communities, either in a group or on a one to one basis.

In Perth & Kinross, Community Learning and Development is delivered across Perth & Kinross through the Youth Services Team, the Adult Learning Team and the Community Capacity Team.

Three national priorities have been developed for Community Learning and Development.  They are as follows:

Achievement Through Learning for Adults

Raising standards of achievement in learning for adults through community-based activities

Achievement Through Learning for Young People

Engaging with young people to facilitate their personal, social and educational development and enable them to gain a voice, influence and a place in society.

Achievement Through Building Community Capacity

Building Community Capacity supports people to be confident, skilled and active community members.

We build community capacity by enabling individuals, groups and communities to develop the confidence, understanding and skills required to influence decision-making and service delivery.
