Community Archives
We've always thought of ourselves as a Community Archive as much
as a Council Archive. We hold Council records, but so do we welcome
collections from local individuals, organisations and
communities.
We also go out and give
talks about the collections to interested groups, and arrange
tours, workshops and activities in the Archive search room. We're
happy to give advice to people who have their own
archival collections and can also help you create your
own virtual archive!
But now we're planning to take things a wee step further and we're
particularly looking at ways to help create collections with
minority and younger communities.
So if you or your group would like to discuss how we can
work together to ensure the preservation of the histories and
cultures of all our communities - send us an email
or give us a call.
Contact us even if you would simply like to find out more about
the ways in which we can work together.
