The Archive searchroom is open to all and free of charge.
Opening hours
We are open from 9.30 am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
This excludes public holidays at Christmas, New Year and Easter. Check the Archive's news pages for information about temporary closures
Appointments can also be made up to a week in advance to consult the records on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 5.00 pm and 8.00 pm

Parking and Public transport
There are short stay car parks on either side of the library building where you can park for a maximum of three hours. For those wishing to spend more time in the Archive, there are long stay car parks a short distance away at City Mills and Canal Street.
We are also easily accessible from both the bus and the train stations, which are both only a few minutes walk away.
