Research services
This service only applies to our own collections - we do not carry
out research if it involves collections belonging to other archives
and institutions.
We are happy to tell you which of our collections contain
information which could be of use to you. However, an enquiry
requiring research that takes longer than half an hour will incur a
charge.
The current fee for this enquiry service is £27.60 per
hour or part of an hour plus VAT. (Examples: 1 hour = total charge
of £33.12; 2 hours = £66.24; 3 hours
= £99.36). Postage and reproduction costs are in
addition to this research fee.
When we complete the research, we will send you a report which will
include any appropriate reproductions, a summary of the
records consulted and suggestions for future research, either
in P&KC Archive or elsewhere.
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that we will be able to answer
any or all of your questions. The nature of archives is such that
records may simply not have survived the years or will not always
contain the information that you need.
Complete and send us the research request form, telling
us precisely what you wish to find out and how long you want
us to spend on the research.
